THE OPPORTUNITY
KOO is excited to hire an experienced professional to create and develop a curriculum and deliver dynamic training for our Kings. As the Curriculum & Training Director, you will make, collaborate, and provide training, ensuring that they align with KOOs’ mission of engaging, encouraging, and empowering youth of color. This is a remote position that requies occasional in-person attendance.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a Curriculum Designer who creates and develops curriculum for licensing
- Create KOO curriculum guidelines, and standards, including ensuring each curriculum has a clear scope and sequence, and assessments for the semester or school year
- Create, collaborate, and deliver training sessions for facilitators, including:
- Culturally Responsie Curriculum Facilitator Training
- Professional Learning Community (PLC) Meetings
- Technical Assistance and 1:1 support
- Virtual or Place-Based observations and write up using the KOO curriculum
- Coordinate a minimum of six external fee-for-service trainings for educators
- Coordinate workshops or sessions for Fall Forum and Spring Symposium Conferences
- Coordinate End-of-Year Celebration for PLC Facilitators
- Facilitate and lead meetings
- Complete pre- and post-assessments (quantitative and narrative) for all student participants in the KOO course offerings, including the facilitators' classroom, rituals, and engagements with students (Kings)
- Provide feedback to the facilitator and district, as needed, regarding fidelity to the KOO's model and framework for engaging, encouraging, and empowering African American males
- Collaborate with Service Delivery Team to create curriculum and learning opportunities for KOO Labs
THE QUALIFICATIONS
- Mission alignment as it relates to engaging, encouraging, and empowering youth of color and toward systemic change in education
- Proven experience and background in curriculum writing, understanding common core, state standards, and adult learning
- Experience planning, coordinating, and executing virtual and place-based training, workshops, and conferences
- Background in Pan-African, African-American, and African Diaspora studies
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to successfully navigate within a young start-up nonprofit environment
- Communicate and articulate verbally and in writing at an exceptional level
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with all levels of staff, outside agencies, youth, parents, the public, and Board members
- Proficiency with standard office software programs including GSuite, Microsoft Office, Zoom and video conferencing, and a variety of web-based platforms
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population
- Willingness to take responsibility for ensuring the completion of work across diverse and collaborative teams
- Value and contribute to sustaining a workplace culture based on trust, collaboration, respect, and honesty
This is a full-time, exempt remote position that requires occasional in-person attendance.
